    1. In summary, probably not. Control is something often given up when a product (or portion of a product) is outsourced. To re-institute controls "after the fact" is likely to squander the economies achieved in outsourcing in the first place. In order to be competitive, one has to assume good faith in partners and hope that a healthy, multi-vendor market weeds out bad actors.

    1. if you use public stock, i've been assured that all sorts of nasty things would happen if you stop growing, but it doesn't seem obvious to me why. if an enterprise has a solid business and stays profitable, why grow unless it's a strategic move?
