    2. Money is called the root of all evil. My friends and I constantly complain of "money troubles." Issues around money are apparently a leading cause of breakups. But just as money stands in for goods and services in transactions, maybe it also stands in for troubles we'd have even if it didn't exist.

    1. Gratitude can be divisive. A little is fun but a lot creates burdens and shifts the balance of relationships. However, thinking that our friends might be in it for the money, now that's scary.

      The wealthy devote a smaller percentage of their earnings to buying things than the rest of us because, after all, they're rich. They already have most of what they want. Instead of buying, the very wealthy are more likely to invest their earnings wherever around the world they can get the highest return.

       

    Does more money in the hands of the wealthy result in overall less economic activity?
